Christina is a Bodywork therapist, artist and musician that lives in Connecticut with her husband and two dogs. Christina has extensive training and experience in Somatic Experiencing, Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy, and Massage therapy. She is a Certified Instructor in the Biodynamic Cranial work, which focuses on resolving traumatic history by working with the physiology of a client. Her specialized training is in Polyvagal theory, attachment, nervous system regulation, and Trauma resolution.

Carla Garrett, Board Member, Legal Advisor
Carla is an attorney as well as President and Ex-officio Board Member for the Center for Economic and Civic Education (a CA nonprofit) and Owner of Education and Business Resources LLB. She graduated from New College of California School of Law and received her teaching credentials from California State University Hayward. Carla started Education and Business Resources (EBR) over 20 years ago. She writes and produces hands-on, classroom simulations and other state standards-compliant curriculum materials for teachers. Carla is also president of an education nonprofit, The Center for Economic and Civic Education (CESQD).

Beth Nielsen, Psychotherapist, Somatic Experiencing Practitioner, Founding Director, International Program Director
Beth is a California licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, Somatic Experiencing Practitioner and Trauma Trainer and Consultant. As a global mental health specialist she has worked with mental health professionals, NGO staff, lay counselors and underserved people world wide including sex trafficking survivors since 2005. Projects have included tsunami recovery and women’s empowerment programs in South India, as well as trauma trainings to benefit sex trafficking staff and survivors in India and Nepal. Beth maintains a private practice online and in Sunderland, MA. She has been a Senior Assistant and Consultant with the Somatic Experiencing® Trauma Institute for over 22 years.

Reverend Louis Jumonville, Board Secretary, Psychotherapist, Aikido Sensei, Vedic Priest
Louis a California licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. He is uniquely qualified with Somatic, Transpersonal, Yogic and Aikido based therapy to heal the debilitating effects of trauma, as well as supporting those with Spiritual Emergence. An advanced student of Shri Anandi Ma, lineage holder of Kundalini Maha Yoga since 1989, he has studied intensively in Nikora, India practicing meditation and mantra sadhana. He is adept at many advanced mantra sadhanas, pujas and fire ceremonies to accelerate spiritual growth, activate healing, and reduce human suffering. With thirty-three years of experience, Louis is a sixth degree black belt in Aikido and was awarded the esteemed title of Shihan in 2020.

Jaqueline is a long time Yoga and meditation teacher in addition to recently becoming a flight attendant for United Airlines. She has served on the board since 2010 and volunteered as a field assistant and photographer on LCI’s South India project. She brings her college studies in Art Direction and Marketing to LCI’s ongoing fundraising and outreach efforts. She’s also mom to a wonderful 11 year old boy!

Ade Navaridas, Psychologist, Founder of Amare Coopera, Somatic Experiencing Practitioner, Volunteer Training Assistant
Ade is a psychologist, EMDR clinician and Somatic Experiencing therapist (training in Advanced Level). Ade is a specialist in trauma and attachment work with more than 20 years of experience as a psychotherapist. She lives ands works in Bilbao, Spain. She has lived in Tanzania working as a project manager in Maasai land. After that Ade collaborated in Kenya as a psychologist in a project with teenagers from the slums and their caregivers. She has also volunteered with the Red Cross as an emergency psychologist. Recently she founded her own NGO, Amare Coopera, with mental health as its principal value.

Cynthia is a Marriage Family Therapist and Somatic Experiencing® Practitioner with over 30 years experience and a rich eclectic approach to healing, transformation, and change. She has facilitated groups throughout the US, and abroad in Europe, South America, Asia and Canada. She trained directly with Dr. Peter Levine in Somatic Experiencing, and collaborated with Dr. Claudio Naranjo from 1989 to 2021 when he passed away. She has a private practice in Berkeley, CA specializing in the resolution of trauma, developmental stress, and nervous system dis-regulation. She encourages attitudes of self-acceptance and compassion in her clients. She has practiced Sufi Dancemeditation for many years.

Swetha Ayyagari Chopda, Board Member, Technical & Cultural Advisor, Field Assistant, Fundraising
Swetha is a technical staff engineer at a semiconductor firm in Silicon Valley. She received her Master's degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Sacramento State University, California. Born in India, she has been drawn to the field of science and tutoring since early childhood. In her spare time, she enjoys practicing Indian classical dance and reading books. Swetha strongly believes in the empowerment of education and helps to support the education of a young girl in India. She hopes to extend this support to as many as possible in the future. With her strong calling to give back to society, she joined Lotus Circle International’s Board to contribute, learn, and grow. She aspires to volunteer on an LCI team and to support our trainings in India.
